The family of Robert M. Gardner proudly dedicates his Memorial Fund to the Scholar-in-Residence Program
in order to perpetuate Jewish learning at Temple Emanu-El and in the Jewish community.
Our Guest Scholar will be Daniel Matt, one of the foremost scholars of Kabbalah.
Schedule of Events:
Friday, February 9 • Shabbat Service 6 pm Dinner and Program 7:30 pm Shekhinah: The Feminine Half of God
Dinner Menu: Chicken Tagine, Fresh Salmon Filet, Korma Sauce, Basmati Rice, Chutney and Naan Bread, Souffle of yellow squash, caramelized onion and roasted almonds, wedge salad with cranberry poached pears, hearts of romaine, goat cheese, Brioche bread pudding with caramelized apple.
Cost for dinner and the program is $30 each for members; $45 each for non-members.
Saturday, February 10 • Torah Study • 9 am The Mystical Meaning of Torah Bagels and coffee will be served. No cost, but reservations are requested for planning purposes.
Saturday, February 10 • Havdalah and Dessert Reception • 7 pm Raising the Sparks: Finding God in the Material World

Sunday, February 11 • Catered Brunch • 10 am Program 11 am God and the Big Bang: Discovering Harmony Between Science and Spirituality Brunch Menu: Sliced salmon with assorted bagels, cream cheese & tomato, cucumber and red onion slices, seasonal fruit platter, individual noodle kugels and individual vegetable frittatas.
Cost for brunch and the program is $18 each for members; $36 for non-members.
