MISSION STATEMENT

Temple Emanu-El is a Reform synagogue serving the greater San Diego Jewish community. We are a spiritual home for all Jewish people. We provide both a modern and traditional experience for the family and the individual. Our congregation offers a joyful experience in which our members can develop and maintain a sense of Jewish identity and community. Through spiritual expression, study and song, and through commitment to social justice, we are covenant partners with God.

Who We Are

Temple Emanu-El is a Reform Jewish synagogue, affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism.

It is located at 6299 Capri Drive, in the neighborhood of Del Cerro, in the city of San Diego, California. We strive to build in our congregation a community and a family for our membership. We hope your connection with our temple will be meaningful and rewarding for you and your family.

We have beautiful and enriching Shabbat and holiday services led by Rabbi Devorah Marcus and Rabbi Benj Fried including Family Shabbat Services during the school year.

Hebrew School Education

A wonderful religious and Hebrew school education with dynamic programming for your children in kindergarten through seventh grade and preparation for Bar/Bat Mitzvah and Kabbalat Torah (Confirmation).

Price Family PreSchool

Our Price Family Preschool for your young children ages 18 months to 5 years old. Temple Emanu-El members pay lower tuition fees for the Preschool.

Jewish Learning Programs For Adults

Lifelong Jewish Learning programs for adults who want to learn more about Judaism, including sessions with Rabbi Marcus and Rabbi Fried, visiting lecturers, films and more.

Volunteer & Social Action

Opportunities to join a Havurah (friendship circle), volunteer with our award-winning Social Action program and contribute to our vibrant community.
