Other People’s Pets is about an animal empath, La La Fine, who was raised by her father, Zev Fine, to be a burglar and who takes care of pets in the homes she robs. Its larger theme is empathy for animals and humans. The book was one of Library Journal’s best debuts of Summer/Fall 2020. It was also Hadassah’s One Book, One Hadassah pick this past October and one of Hadassah’s Best Books of 2020. Author Kevin Wilson said about the book: “This examination of family, across all lines and definitions, will open you up in such necessary, beautiful ways.”
