Kabbalat Torah

Kabbalat Torah

Kabbalat Torah (Confirmation) was instituted about 200 years ago in Germany. The first such ceremony was held in America in 1846. Many times in our lives we are given the opportunity to reflect on our beliefs and our history and thereby reaffirm our faith. One such time is Bar/Bat Mitzvah at age 13. Kabbalat Torah occurs at a time when young adults are beginning to make life decisions. What better time to reflect on the values that Judaism teaches!

The Kabbalat Torah is taught as part of the Community Jewish High. Classes are held in the Temple Emanu-El Library on Tuesdays from 7-9 pm.

Tuition for the class is paid directly to the Community Jewish High School.
